EAR-Based Comprehensive Plan Update Mailing List

You can participate in the update of the County's Comprehensive Plan - the blueprint for the County's future. Every seven to ten years, the County prepares an Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) that evaluates the success in addressing major community issues through the Comprehensive Plan and identifies recommendations for revisions and update of the Plan. The EAR was adopted by the County Commission on August 11, 2009 and contained recommendations which will form the foundation for the next update and revision of the Comprehensive Plan in 2009 to 2011. Sign up for the EAR-Based Comprehensive Plan Update Mailing List to receive notices about upcoming meetings and new information throughout the process. For more information visit the EAR website.

Emergency Management - Email Alerts

The Division of Emergency Management maintains a free email subscription list called the Emergency Management Notification System (EMNS). The list provides updates on situations or incidents impacting Alachua County. The goal of the EMNS is to improve communications between emergency management and the community. E-mails sent include weather watches/warnings, hurricane statements, public information statements during emergencies, and other emergency related information. Please note that the EMNS email subscription is for informational purposes only and should not be substituted for official notification from a NOAA Weather Radio. A NOAA Weather Radio remains the most effective way to receive timely, and official emergency notifications.
